Jan. 31st

Brilliant, gorgeous day with Pammy, Sister y cunado! Lovely breakfast in their Air bnb apt on Downey St, then off to The Met, then I had to jet over to work, but lovely day all-round!

Jan. 29th

Ginny's Supper Club sits below Red Rooster in Harlem. Never knew of this venue before Thursday night. An extremely talented artist, Kate Davis, was playing and my dear, darling, English beauty Laura Hooper had a ticket for me. So amazing to just sit and listen to an artist. I'm now a huge fan and have decided to infuse a bit more jazz into my life.

Jan. 28th

After a spectacular FlyWheel class with my favorite instructor, I sat down with the sheep of Kaffe 1668 to fine-tune my acting reel. Really pleased with how it came together and feeling very proud of myself.

Walk this route daily! Tower in the far background. George, the trash bear statue, on the right. All looks pretty in the snow. Heading to a double ride day at FlyWheel!

Jan. 26th

Winter Storm Juno shut down New York City. After work I traveled up to Central Park to play in the falling snow. I did not get to play last year due to my broken foot. I ran. I frolicked. I fell...hard...twice. And it was glorious! Such a fun spirited day!

Jan. 25th

A little guest left this when she was checking out. I'm about 99% sure that is not me in the picture. Keep in mind there are 3 women that work at the front desk who are Caucasian and have longish hair. I don't remember interacting with this family at all, but hey, I love kids and I'll take it any day!

Jan. 24th

The highly anticipate package sent from our very wealthy guests who own two professional sports teams arrived today. What did we get? King Cake and an assortment of New Orleans crap. Uh, thanks. Kayla found the baby.

Jan. 22nd

Jump start on Spring Cleaning.
Late last year, I produced a short film. When it came time to present certain documentation for festival submissions, I could not locate all my stuff from that shoot. Guess what I found today... ALL the documents I needed! AHHHHH!!!!
We start again. I make it better this time. I went to Staples.

Jan. 21st

Today began with a 7:00AM FlyWheel class with my fave instructor, Kate, down in Flatiron. Beautiful light coming across the building... Btw, I'm just putting this day to bed now at 12:24AM.

Jan. 20th

Younghee Salon sits around the corner from The Greenwich & Locanda. The owner and I have been friends since the first day she came in and I made her a coffee at the barista bar. Now I hair model for her & her puppy Hendrick kept me company in the chair as we chatted the afternoon away. Her chair is like therapy and I always leave her salon feeling better than when I entered. She's a special light in my life. Another work neighbor :)

Jan. 19th

This little guy has been sitting in the park for months. Pass by him frequently on my way to FlyWheel. I have named him George. Today, I got to play a bit on the instructor bike for the first time. Long way to go, but dear God, it was fun! Jaimie indulged me, who is someone I have come to just adore. Along with everyone else who works at the Tribeca location. Work neighbors :)

Jan. 14th-18th

So Mom and Kim Peters flew in the visit Jan. 14th... the following pictures are from some of our adventures.

Jan. 14th: Waiting for Mom & Kim to arrive. I set up a nice bottle of white wine (which we never drank) and managed to keep myself from eating those cookies!

Jan. 15th: The purpose of the trip was to see The Elephant Man on Broadway starring Bradley Cooper, Alessandro Nivola and Patricia Clarkson. All of whom we chatted with after the show. #NBD #whatismylife

Jan. 16th: Kim's first experience with FlyWheel. Mom's second trip! Loved being so close! 5 min walk from the hotel vs. 50 min commute from Queens.

Jan. 17th: We took an impromptu performance of If/Then for a matinee. It was... okay. Sadly, I could not join them for the second show, On the Town, but a good recovery for Broadway!

Jan. 18th: Technically, this was taken on Jan. 17th but I'm posting it on this day. Pictures are "forbidden" at the Waverly Inn but I snuck this one in the bathroom.

Jan. 13th

Tue Hoe returns from Denmark. Technically, he arrived last night... but technically it was after midnight... so it was today. We haven't seen each other since before the holidays, which is really too long! This man brings so much happiness and light into the apartment and it's felt empty without him! Good roommates are such a treasure and I'm a lucky lady!

Both of us are a little sick and not "camera-ready" so we're trying our best. Here is another one cause I just can't resist. He is joy personified!

Jan. 12th

Everywhere, discarded Christmas trees line the streets of Manhattan. There must be a designated pickup day. It hasn't happened yet, but I feel like I'll walk out of my apartment and there will have been a Christmas tree rapture!

One thing I wanted to note about today, but failed to photograph, was a private workout at Bari Studio. I really regret not capturing this cause it was hilarious and so so memorable! Only one co-worker (Ann) came to join me, but it was awesome cause Courtney was an amazing instructor and we laughed so much. I really love this project we've got going at the hotel, even if I'm the only one excited about working out! It brings me joy!

Jan. 11th

The walls on the Dream Castle of Hope for the Dallas Cowboys came crumbling down. Green Bay beat my 'Boys today! Sadness. Controversial call on a pivotal 4th down play that basically decided the game.

The photo may mislead one to think that I am unable to control my emotions during a football game. Not true. I was trying to hug her... I just didn't open my arms wide enough.

She lived.

Jan. 10th

Truth-be-told this photo was taken yesterday when crossing 57th St. but it's too beautiful not to make the blog! There has been scaffolding around Carnegie Hall for years, and I'd forgotten what a magnificent sight it is to behold. I love this City!

Jan. 9th

Woke up feeling like death! Partially from the cold and partially from the red wine I used to soothe my sore throat last night at the holiday party :) Flawed system, me thinks.

Off to FlyWheel, b/c I always preach the best way to get over a sickness is to purge the body and sweat it out! Amazing Wendy Wolfson leading the way = intense and certainly exhausting! Sweat? Yep. One class? Oh no. I must sweat MORE! UWS for my girl, Nowani's, class. Yep, at this point I'm on class #4 in 2 days.

My dear Faith came to class with me, which was especially wonderful b/c no trains were running in Queens. We made it to Queensboro Plaza and opted to walk rather than fight for a spot on the bus. (I avoid buses at all costs) And a short 45 minutes later we found ourselves on my street.

I may not wake up tomorrow. If you read this, you'll know why. My body simply quit. I've put it thru far too much today. I sincerely apologize.

p.s. the photo is a pic of my new boots. they proved themselves on the walk tonight. solid purchase!

Jan. 8th

TGH Holiday party @ Macao!
One day, I will be employed at a place that celebrates the holidays during the holidays. So far in New York, I've always celebrated in January. Alas, the service industry can never have fun until everyone else has had their fun!

Jan. 7th

According to accuweather, it is 11 degrees outside but feels like -2. It will eventually get to -10. The most painful walk I've ever experienced from the train tonight. I almost sought shelter and I only live 2 1/2 blocks from the flipping train! It's soooooo cold outside!

Also, today included a hot yoga class with amazing twin sisters! Truth be told, they were the reason I went to that class. Otherwise, I would've just snuggled in my bed, but alas, we are women of our word. Now, I'm home with tea in hand in comfy sweats :)

Jan. 6th

Super excited to make coffee for my visitor this morning and so mad to realize I bought the wrong Keurig coffee pods. #typical
Why are there other kinds? And do I do with them now that I've opened them? Who owns a Keurig Brewed?!?! I don't even know what that is!!
I just wanted a cup of Mr. Newman's coffee :(

Jan. 5th

Thanks to my amazing friend, Mel House, I discovered that one can take broadsword class here in this fine City. Once again, everything available in NYC! Super heavy and arms very sore, but I feel I could easily step into one of these Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies and do some serious damage!

Hard fought victory! Survived the stress with dear friends and Shiner beer!
Bring on the Packers!!

Just a little parcel that made it's way to us.
We threw it away... immediately... after a little role play :)

Jan. 2nd

"Il Mulino?" "Maialino?" "Who's cake is that?" "That's for Stanley?" "He's my girlfriend's boyfriend." "Are you heading to the Gramercy Park Hotel?" "Whatever."

Stay away from prescription pills people!

New Years Day 2015

Hello 2015!! Inspired by a video created by a director I worked with previously this year, I'm going to try to document this whole year, one photo at a time. This and watching one "Friends" episode each day are my resolutions.

Jan. 1st: I woke up this morning and decided to freeze my little Texas butt off and go to the park to shoot around using a borrowed ball from one of my co-workers-- that I've had for about 7 months :) Amazing to get back to something so familiar and so removed from my present reality.
